Madison Lilley, who won the title of NCAA National Player of the Year in 2020-21 and was a member of the NCAA championship squad, will join the Kentucky Volleyball coaching team as the third full-time assistant coach on July 1, 2023. Lilley, who recently won her league’s gold medal in France, will help the program in recruiting, day-to-day operations, scouting, and working with setters. As one of the top collegiate setters, Lilley contributed to Kentucky’s winning streak, winning four consecutive SEC championships from 2017 to 2020/21 and leading the SEC in assists per set during the three of those seasons.

Craig Skinner, the Kentucky Volleyball coach, said that they were delighted to have Madison Lilley join their team and that her athletic career, which includes being a national champion and playing professional volleyball, would be a huge asset to their program and players. He also noted that Madison emphasized the value of coaching during the recruitment process and the positive impact it has on individuals who one is teaching.

Madison Lilley averaged 12.37 assists per set in 2020, winning the SEC Athlete of the Year and the first-ever sport of volleyball’s HONDA Award. She graduated from Kentucky in 2021 with a degree in Integrated Strategic Communications, and is recognized as one of the finest volleyball players of her era.

Kentucky Wildcats Volleyball is a college volleyball team representing the University of Kentucky that competes in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The team began in 1974, and has since become a national powerhouse, competing in 27 NCAA Tournaments and making it to 10 Regional Finals. Moreover, Kentucky is the only SEC member school to win a Women’s National Championship.
