21 years ago in November American rapper ‘50 Cent’ released his most famous song ‘In Da Club,’ but his most recent revelation seems like the popular American rapper has found a new club of his own in Celtic…
Curtis Jackson, whose stage name is ‘50 Cent’ was announced last week as a headline act for next year’s TRNSMT 2025 festival at Glasgow Green.
Having starred in the hugely successful 2018 action movie Den of Thieves, 50 Cent and Celtic superfan and Hollywood actor Gerard Butler created a close-knit bond which has in turn sparked the New York music icon’s interest in Celtic.
The 50 year-old has been previously spotted at Baseball, Basketball and NFL games, but appears to have no prior history in supporting any football teams or displaying interest for the sport.
However, thanks to Gerard Butler’s influence, 50 Cent has declared that when visiting Glasgow in July he wants to make room for a trip to Paradise and potentially squeeze a match in too.
Speaking to Daily Record, 50 Cent said: “Man, Gerard is crazy about Celtic. I don’t think I have ever met somebody more in love with their team.
“We are going to watch a Celtic game together. That guy won’t miss a game even when he is shooting. He must go up another level when he is actually at the stadium.”
The rapper added: “When we were filming Den of Thieves, Gerard would not miss a single second. If I went to watch a game in Scotland it would have to be Celtic. He would never forgive me if I went to watch anybody else.”
Adding to the long list of A-list American celebrity stars to signal a fascination in the Scottish champions, 50 Cent would join the likes of Snoop Dog, Coolio, Jon Hamm, and Lana Del Rey to have bizarrely taken a keen interest in speaking about their indirect connections with the club.
