A horrifying accident has left a man in Florida lucky to be alive.
According to WFLX in Florida, 33-year-old Coleson Janey had to be rushed to the hospital with several injuries after being run over by a car while sunbathing on Ormond Beach in Volusia County. Somehow, Janey managed to avoid being crushed by the car, but still sustained a scratch to his eye, bruises on his face and broken bones in his arm and legs.
“I was just screaming, screaming my head off, screaming bloody murder, of course, because I was just in so much pain,” Janey told the outlet.
Janey said that he's looking at around 3-4 months of recovery time after suffering a clean break to his forearm and a break in his femur that requires a titanium rod. He said he was happy to be alive and in a position to walk again somewhere down the line.
“So, now, I have a forearm that’s broken in two places – both bones in the forearm, clean break. And then, my femur, which was broken, that they just had to put a titanium rod in,” Janey said.
“What I’ve heard is three or four months of recovery time,” he said. “I’m just thankful to be alive and to be able to walk again at some point.”

The person who reportedly ran over Janey was a woman who stayed on the scene and cooperated with investigators. She has been charged with careless driving and did not show signs of impairment.
Per the WFLX report, Janey's family was expecting that the driver would receive the more serious charge of reckless driving.
As of writing, the investigation is ongoing.
