One of Ruben Amorim’s substitutions was questioned by Manchester United legend Gordon Hill following a draw with Fulham.
United started the new Premier League campaign with a loss to Arsenal and then followed it up with a 1-1 draw away at Craven Cottage.
New signing Matheus Cunha shone early, hitting the post and creating two chances within three minutes.
In the minute 38th, Bruno Fernandes missed a penalty, leaving both teams goalless heading into half-time.
In the second half, United centre-back Leny Yoro broke the deadlock with a deflected header, but Emile Smith Rowe quickly responded to level things up for Fulham.
Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage brought an end to the Red Devils’ streak of eight consecutive away victories there.
Although United spent much of the game on the front foot, they lacked sharpness in front of goal and were left to rue Fernandes’ missed penalty.
Amorim made just one adjustment from the side that faced Arsenal the week before, bringing Amad Diallo into the starting line-up and leaving Diogo Dalot on the bench.
However, the first change against Fulham came early in the second half, with Dalot replacing Amad in the 52nd minute.
Dalot struggled to make an impact after coming on. His crossing was off target, and his turnover led to Fulham’s equaliser.
What gets me is he takes off one midfielder to put on a defender. Dalot. wow sorry but he is not the answer.

During the match, former Manchester United winger Gordon Hill criticised Amorim’s decision to bring on Dalot.
To be fair, it was not entirely Dalot’s fault for Fulham’s goal. Matthijs de Ligt seemed to think Altay Bayindir had it covered when he let Smith Rowe through.
Most of United’s substitutions leaned defensive, with only Benjamin Sesko coming on as an attacking option late in the game.
It is far too early to panic, but United have not found their rhythm yet this season.
They have just one point from two matches, and Amorim will be well aware that they need to turn things around quickly.
To me they are lacking confidence, and the effort just is not there, was the Arsenal game a one off, They can not perform one week and the next week not, This is a sign to me of inconsistency. and that will get us no where.

After the match, Hill again took to social media to say it is not just belief that is missing from this United side – there are questions around effort too.
Up next for United is a Carabao Cup clash against Grimsby Town on Wednesday night. They’ll hope that game gives them a chance to find some much-needed confidence.
