Manchester United have warned Jadon Sancho’s agent that they’ll activate an option to extend the winger’s contract to 2027 to avoid his free transfer next summer while talks with Roma continue, seeing the Giallorossi director Frederic Massara fly to England.

Manchester United hope to push Sancho out of the club this summer by telling the English winger and his agent that they are ready to activate an option to extend until 2027.

Sancho’s current deal at Old Trafford expires at the end of the season, in June 2026.

Man United send warning to Sancho

The Red Devils have already reached an agreement to send Sancho to Roma on loan with an obligation to buy, but Emeka Obasi, the agent of the English winger, is stalling on a move.

The player’s representative probably hoped to get more money for his client by completing a free transfer next year, but the latest Manchester United warning would ruin his plans.

Roma director flies to England for Sancho, George talks

In the meantime, Roma director Massara has travelled to England to continue negotiations for both Sancho and Chelsea’s Tyrique George, who, quite incredibly, shares the same agent as Sancho.

Sources with direct knowledge of the matter tell me that George would be even more expensive than Sancho and that Gian Piero Gasperini still hopes to sign the Manchester United outcast as he aims to sign a player ready to go who can add unpredictability in the final third.
