Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg took on UFC Bantamweight Champion Merab Dvalishvili in an intesnse sparring session.

The session, attended by ex-bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling, highlighted Zuckerberg’s evolving skills. Despite facing one of the world’s elite bantamweights, Zuckerberg gave a respectable account of himself, even managing to land a takedown on Dvalishvili. While Merab was not fighting at full throttle, Zuckerberg’s composure and technical growth was there to be seen. Zuckerberg was at UFC 298 to see Merab beat Henry Cejudo, as Dvalishvili formed a close friendship.

“Mark Zuckerberg, we became friends on social media. He’s been supporting me and we send positive messages to each other. He did text me a couple of days ago that he would be at the fights, but he told me don’t tell no one. I keep a secret, of course. I know he was there and as soon as I go there I saw him and I say ‘Hi’ and ‘Good to see you in person.

“During the rounds, he was telling me times, ‘30 seconds left,’ he was coaching me. He was my fourth corner tonight. So it’s just conversation and then when I got [Cejudo] in the choke, the choke was tight, but I got too excited. I was looking at Mark Zuckerberg and I had too much fun. Maybe I should focus to finish. You know, I’m just a fighter, I’m free, that’s what you do, that was a fun, good, positive conversation,” Dvalishvili said

This latest session is part of a growing list of athletes Zuckerberg has trained alongside.

Alex Pereira

Zuckerberg made a visit to the Plinio Cruz gym in New York to take on UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. The picture above shows Zuckerberg engaging in both striking and grappling with the Brazilian champion. While Alex was never going to take him on in a full fight, Zuckerberg is gaining valuable experience. The Meta CEO has shown MMA is not just a hobby, but a lifestyle.

Adesanya And Volkanovski

Facebook: Fight Tale

Zuckerberg previously had a sparring session with Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski. This was part of a wider narrative over a potential MMA fight with Elon Musk. Dana White stepped in to confirm that both were serious about making it happen. The fight had the potential to shatter PPV records, with talk over a fight at the Colosseum in Rome. While it never happened, Zuck gained valuable experience nonetheless. The sparring with Merab will only add to that.
