Michael Jordan is one of the world’s biggest standard-bearers when it comes to excellence. When someone excels in their field at the highest level, they are referred to as the Michael Jordan of their profession. This was the incredibly high bar set by Jordan during his playing career in the NBA.

But who is the Michael Jordan of Tennis? According to Matteo Berrettini, that would be Roger Federer. During an interview, Berrettini explained how Roger Federer was the Michael Jordan of the game, and that Tennis had it's own big three of legends, with Rafael Nadal being like LeBron James, and Novak Djokovic being like Kobe Bryant.

“Rafael Nadal is the LeBron of tennis, in terms of physicality and because they both exploded (on the scene) very young. Roger Federer, I would compare him to Michael Jordan. Novak Djokovic reminds me of Kobe Bryant for how he remains cold (stoic) in difficult situations.”

This comparison might draw criticism, mostly because tennis fans will feel that either Nadal or Djokovic deserves the honor of being the Michael Jordan of tennis. But the fact that Tennis has its own trio of legends like basketball just goes to show the incredible dominance the three players have had over the sport during the last 2 decades.

Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James are often used as an analogy for different sports. Recently, WWE superstar R-Truth said that The Rock was the Michael Jordan of wrestling, Randy Orton is the LeBron James, and Roman Reigns is the Kobe Bryant of that field. So the three players represent an apt barometer for any and all professions.

Jordan is often compared with LeBron James, with many feeling that both of them are the two greatest players of all time. Whereas there is a loud majority of fans who feel that Kobe Bryant belongs in that conversation. Regardless of which side of the coin you fall on, there is no denying how great each of these players was in their careers.
