Those who are obsessed with Hollywood legend Matthew McConaughey are probably familiar with his latest NFL-themed commercials for Uber Eats.
In the commercials, McConaughey is seemingly convinced that the NFL was created to help sell food and has appeared alongside popular NFL players such as Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice and San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey.
Well, McConaughey is back with another one that will air live during Super Bowl LIX on Sunday.
In the latest commercial, that has since been shared on social media, McConaughey is going back to the beginning to further explain how football was created to sell food.
"Look, from the very beginning, football’s been a conspiracy to make us hungry," McConaughey said in the ad. "But let me tell you where it all started."
Throughout the ad, McConaughey takes the role of various NFL legends from the past such as Vince Lombardi and Mike Ditka to add fire to his conspiracy. While dressed up as Ditka, sporting the classic aviators, sweater, and mustache, McConaughey turns down former Bears defensive lineman William "Refrigerator" Perry's request to go by a different nickname.
Not to rain on McConaughey's conspiracy, but Perry's nickname reportedly came from his pure size at 6'2, 335 pounds, not because of the connection to food.
McConaughey's role as Ditka was previously teased in another Uber Eats TV spot when the actor was dressed in the Ditka costume and walked up to a mirror with Ditka's picture next to it while practicing the classic catchphrase "Da Bears" in front of his reflection. If you look closely, you can also see Perry's jersey hanging beside him.
The Ditka-look is always a great costume seen during every Bears game throughout the crowd and everyone will love seeing McConaughey's version of the look.
These commercials are great and I'm already finding myself walking around saying "Da Bears" more than ever. Tune into the big game on Sunday to see the entire commercial on TV, below is how you can watch.
