It's no secret that iconic actor Matthew McConaughey is a huge football fan, especially when it comes to his beloved Texas Longhorns, a team he's been vocal about for years. McConaughey even attended several of their games this past season as they made their run to the College Football Playoff semifinals.

However, McConaughey's passion for football doesn't stop there—he's also a diehard fan of the Washington Commanders. As the team prepares for their NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon, McConaughey shared a brief message on social media with a photo ahead of the showdown.

"Hailing since 1974. @commanders," McConaughey posted.

McConaughey included a picture of himself holding up a children’s size Washington jacket, highlighting just how long he has supported the Commanders organization. This season marks their most successful campaign since 1991, ending a 33-year drought of not making the NFC Championship.

The Commanders also secured their first playoff win since 2005 and now find themselves just one victory away from a trip to New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX. The anticipation for their NFC championship matchup with fellow NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles is at an all-time high. The two teams split their season series, with each side claiming one win.

However, this one carries the most weight. Led by rookie sensation quarterback Jayden Daniels and first-year head coach Dan Quinn, the Commanders have been playing with house money all season, and they’ll look to carry that momentum into Lincoln Financial Field and punch their ticket to the Super Bowl.
