Matthijs de Ligt has shared his excitement about Manchester United’s summer signings.

The Red Devils have brought in four new players ahead of the 2025/26 season, adding more depth to Ruben Amorim’s squad.

Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo both made their debuts against Arsenal last weekend, and Amorim will be hoping they can make an impact soon.

Benjamin Sesko was also introduced late in that match, getting around 25 minutes to show what he can do.

One of the highlights of United’s performance against Arsenal was De Ligt’s display at the back. The Dutch defender is confident that things will improve further, particularly with Mbeumo settling into the side.

Ruben Amorim was quick to praise Bryan Mbeumo’s debut against Arsenal, and the £65 million signing has clearly made a strong first impression in the dressing room as well.

Kobbie Mainoo called Mbeumo “special,” and De Ligt added his own praise for the club’s new number 19.

Speaking on Manchester United’s YouTube channel, De Ligt said that Mbeumo is not even fully fit yet, so fans should expect even more once he settles in.

“He’s really explosive, and he’s not even fully fit yet. He knows that he still has to work hard because he came from a shorter pre-season because he didn’t train at Brentford.

“So I think he has already shown so much quality, but I think when he becomes even more fit, you will see the real potential coming out.

“I can’t wait to see that because it will help us as a team massively.”

How Bryan Mbeumo is settling into the Manchester United attack

This summer, Amorim prioritized revitalizing United’s attack. He now has a promising new trio in Mbeumo, Cunha, and Sesko to build around.

The three forwards had a brief run together against Arsenal, but Amorim could start them together as a unit for the first time against Fulham on Sunday.

Mbeumo has fit in well at United, with several players noting that the team atmosphere feels as strong as it ever has.

It will naturally take time for the new signings to fully settle in, especially since none of them have played together before joining United.

As they build fitness and understanding over time, there is good reason to expect improvement as the season goes on – something Amorim will be looking forward to.
