Maxx Crosby gives his opinion on Ashton Jeanty

Ashton Jeanty is the player the Las Vegas Raiders are arguably the most excited about coming into the new season.

The running back had a season for the ages in his final year at Boise State, finishing only second to Barry Sanders for the most rushing yards in a single season with 2,601. Finishing as an All-American and a Heisman Trophy finalist, Jeanty was selected by the Raiders with the sixth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. With new head coach Pete Carroll and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly’s penchant for strong running games, Jeanty is set up for a phenomenal rookie season as the designated workhorse back.

Despite only being part of the organization for a month, Jeanty already has earned plenty of admiration, and Maxx Crosby has now put his two cents in on the Raiders’ new rookie sensation.

Crosby is already impressed by Jeanty during the first stretch of Raiders’ OTAs.

On Wednesday, Crosby was asked about Jeanty, and the star pass rusher had nothing but positive things to say about his new teammate.

“Ashton is a great kid,” Crosby said during his media availability. “I’ve been able to know him before he got drafted here. … But he’s a great kid, humble kid, I think — just the fact that a kid like him could have went anywhere in the country and decided to stay at Boise State and go out there and have the best year at running back, I think, arguably, he ever had. But just shows the testament to the type of person he is.”

“So, it’s been awesome. It’s only been a couple weeks with him, but I love the kid. He’s a hell of a worker, hell of a player, and excited to be teammates with him.”

Coming off a four-win season, Jeanty and other new additions to the Raiders have given fans plenty to be excited about coming into the new season. Between the new front office, coaching staff and roster, the Raiders have made significant strides on paper.

Now, it is up to the team to ensure those changes make a difference on the field, and a strong season from Jeanty would go a long way towards achieving that goal.
