Maxx Crosby and his Las Vegas Raiders are preparing for what seems to be an exciting 2025 NFL season in Allegiant Stadium. Minority owner Tom Brady got to work as soon as the campaign ended, helping the team in the process to hire a new head coach and general manager.

Besides adding Pete Carroll to lead the squad and quarterback Geno Smith to lead the offense, the Raiders drafted one of the best college players in 2024, running back Ashton Jeanty.

The Boise State Bronco had a dream junior season, carrying the ball 374 times for 2,601 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns. He was a Heisman Award finalist and an All-American.

Las Vegas drafted him with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, adding another piece to their revamped offense.

Once Wednesday's OTA practice was over, Crosby addressed the media. He shared his opinion on the rookie running back, praising him for his talent on the field and his character outside of it.

“Ashton is a great kid,” Crosby said, per NBC Sports. “I’ve been able to know him before he got drafted here...But he’s a great kid, humble kid, I think — just the fact that a kid like him could have went anywhere in the country and decided to stay at Boise State and go out there and have the best year at running back, I think, arguably, he ever had. But just shows the testament to the type of person he is.

“So, it’s been awesome. It’s only been a couple weeks with him, but I love the kid. He’s a hell of a worker, hell of a player and excited to be teammates with him.”

The Raiders are coming off a 4-13 season with Antonio Pierce as head coach. They have a renovated team with new faces not only on the roster but the coaching staff and the front office.

Jeanty is an early favorite (+250, tied with Cam Ward) to win the 2025 Offensive Rookie of the Year award, which would mean great news for the Raiders.
