The University of Louisville men’s track & field team has earned a respectable ranking of 22nd in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Indoor Track & Field National Rating Index. The team has accumulated a total of 38.69 points, showcasing their talent and determination.

Leading the way for the Cardinals this season is Trey Allen, a five-time All-American. Allen currently holds the top mark nationally in the men’s high jump, having cleared a height of 2.24m (7-4.25) at the KTCCCA College Opener in December. His exceptional performance has been a major contributing factor to the team’s overall success.

The Cardinals also showcase their depth in the long jump event, with two athletes ranking among the top in the country. Jeremiah Willis achieved a mark of 7.82m (25-8) at the Rod McCravy Memorial Invite, placing him within the top ten nationally. Not far behind is Jake Burkey, whose leap of 7.69m (25-2.75) at the same meet currently ranks him 12th nationally.

Cade DeWitt and Ty McPhail have also contributed to the team’s success, both tying for 25th nationally in the men’s pole vault event. Their impressive clearance of 5.23m (17-1.75) at the KTCCCA College Opener demonstrates their skill and potential for even greater performances in future competitions.

The Cardinals will have the opportunity to showcase their talent once again at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational, taking place on January 26-27. This highly anticipated meet is one of four U.S. meets included on this year’s World Athletics Indoor Tour and will be held at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in Louisville. Both the men’s and women’s squads are eager to compete and continue their success in this upcoming event.
