Miami has to keep its foot on the gas if it wants to play in the CFP.

There’s a strong chance the ACC is a one-bid College Football Playoff conference, and there’s no margin for error after the loss to Georgia Tech two weeks ago.

Miami has to win the ACC Championship, or else. If it loses to Syracuse next week or to Wake Forest here, there’s a problem.

The Demon Deacons are still fighting for a bowl game, but at 4-6 they have to win this and beat Duke next week. They’ve lost two straight, but have the offense to make this interesting.

Why Wake Forest Will Win

All of the pressure is on the other side. Wake Forest might be fighting for its bowl life, but the Hurricanes have the weight of ACC and CFP expectations all on their shoulders.

But beyond all of that, the Demon Deacons have to be able to bomb away and get the O going to keep up. The passing game might not go full-force too often, but it has to keep pushing.

Miami’s defense is hit-or-miss, it’l go through lapses and give up big yards, and the offense - for all the firepower - should be good for a turnover or two, but …

The Hurricane attack should be overwhelming.

It’s No. 1 in the nation in total offense, and not just because of Cam Ward and the passing game. The ground game makes everything a whole lot easier, and what went wrong against Georgia Tech? It didn’t work.
