Micah Parsons Conflict Update: Good News Reaction From Cowboys' Dak Prescott And Trevon Diggs

Dallas Cowboys EDGE Micah Parsons is still awaiting his new contract extension, and here we sit, just four practices(!) away from Week 1.

That isn't ideal, with many not understanding exactly what the hold-up is.

Back in March, Jerry and Micah talked about the details of the contract, to which Parsons then asked Jerry to call his agent, which so far, neither Jerry nor the Cowboys has done. Jerry believed all the key points were done.

But here we sit, with Jerry still needing to pick up the phone (the agent can, too, mind you) to get a deal done for the team's best player. However, one thing we don't know is the sort of money Jerry was offering.

We know that $40 million APY and $200 million in total have been mentioned, but in an interview with Michael Irvin, Jerry offered a glimpse into what he put on the table to Micah when Irvin asked.

"I can't necessarily say, but I don't want to hedge the question," Jerry said. "Okay. It would have made him the highest guaranteed player other than a quarterback in the NFL. Okay. Other than a quarterback."

Right, ok.

Looking at the NFL landscape, other than quarterback, the most guaranteed money belongs to Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett with $123 million. But that's now.

Either way, this saga has gone on long enough, to the point where now Parsons has scrubbed anything Cowboys related from his social media.

This circus continues. ... and yet after practice at The Star on Monday, team leader Dak Prescott and close Micah pal spoke out on the situation, with positive takes.

Diggs said Parsons - despite his trade demand - wants to remain with Dallas.

“Most definitely. Like he said before, he plays the game for us— blood, sweat and tears,'' Diggs said. "I know for sure he wants to be out there with us and helping this team win.”

And Dak said Micah wants to do that in Week 1 at Philly, and that the QB feels confident that will happen.

Good. But ... four practices to go. ... and a chance for all involved to prove that the Cowboys and Micah aren't "unserious'' about football.
