While Michael Jordan’s playing days are decades behind him, his influence on basketball, fashion and sports culture remains unmatched.

The Air Jordan line began as a performance sneaker in the 1980s and quickly grew into a full lifestyle division under Nike, changing how athletes are marketed, while spawning a multibillion‑dollar apparel and resale economy.

In fact, Jordan Brand controlled 58% of the U.S. basketball shoe market in 2013, according to Forbes, and was responsible for 12.9% of Nike's total fiscal year 2023 sales, bringing in $6.59 billion in revenue (Nike earned $51.2 billion).

That 12.9% is nearly double what the market share was 10 years earlier; Jordan Brand had a mere 7% share of Nike's total fiscal year 2014 sales.

Now, another chapter has unfolded as Sole Retriever broke the news on Thursday that Jordan Brand and Supreme will launch a brand new apparel collection in Summer 2026.

Michael Jordan and Supreme Announce Collaboration

The initial list shows six items and suggested retail: shorts ($118), jersey ($128), fleece hoodie ($148), track pants ($158), track jacket ($168) and a leather jacket ($700).

The story by Sole Retriever notes that each item will arrive in three different colorways and that while footwear has not been confirmed, "it's possible" they will be part of the collection.

Supreme and Jordan Brand first paired in 2015 for an iconic Air Jordan 5 pack, then again in 2019 for an Air Jordan 14 and accompanying apparel; both drops generated intense demand and resale activity, setting the stage for future collaborations.

Supreme’s limited-edition model tends to create instant demand and resale interest, likely producing outsized attention relative to typical Jordan apparel drops.

In fact, secondary-market history suggests the pieces could trade well above retail. For example, StockX shows the retail price of the Jordan 14 Retro nearly doubling over the last year: from $249 in November 2024 up to $422 as of Thursday, with a peak sale of $579 in June.

For Jordan Brand, this new partnership keeps the label culturally current and taps Supreme’s younger, trendier audience while reinforcing Jordan’s lifestyle influence beyond the court.
