Mike Perry Applauds Nate Diaz’s Cardio Ahead of Their MMA Fight on Netflix

Someone praising their rival is a rare sight, but in the world of combat sports, fierce competition and mutual respect often go hand in hand, and Mike Perry just became an example of that.

Amid all the buzz about the Gina Carano vs. Ronda Rousey fight, the other fights on the same card are quietly shaping up to be just as intriguing for the fans. One of them is Mike Perry vs. Nate Diaz, and when Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) got to spend time with Perry, ‘Platinum’ also took time to appreciate his rival.

While talking about his preparations, Perry gave a special shout-out to Diaz, praising him for his physique and skills. “I have a very tough opponent who’s known to be super durable, has a lot of cardio, and takes people into deep waters.”

The two are set to be part of a welterweight encounter preceding the Francis Ngannou vs. Philippe Lins co-main event of MVP MMA 1 scheduled for May 16. And judging by Perry’s words, he can’t wait to step inside the cage and put on a show.

Diaz and Perry had a verbal exchange during the final press conference as well, where Perry had nice things to say about Diaz. But he added that he was confident that he could take whatever Diaz brings inside the cage.

“I’m very confident in all the work I’ve done and my fighting abilities. He looks like he’s in great shape from photos and videos I’ve seen, so I’m ready to have a freaking battle for five rounds or five seconds.”

Diaz returned the praise by saying, “I spent all day with him. He looked good, man. He is ready to rock. Me too.” But the sweet exchange didn’t last long as Perry quickly reminded everyone why they were at the press conference by stating that he is ready for a ‘car c*****’ in the cage, to which Diaz replied with a simple “drive safely.”

In whose favor the odds will be, it will only be revealed on May 16, but till then, let’s take a look at what Mike Perry meant when he said that Nate Diaz does a ‘lot of cardio.’
