It is not a secret that Los Angeles Angels superstar outfielder Mike Trout is a big Philadelphia Eagles fan, so when Jalen Hurts and company took down the mighty Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans Sunday night, the three-time American League Most Valuable Player was understandably hyped.
The 33-year-old Trout, who grew up just outside Philadelphia in Vineland, New Jersey, showed his support for the Eagles once again with a comment on Philly's celebratory post on Instagram after the Super Bowl.
"LETS GO!!! Never a doubt!! " wrote Trout, whose comment has already garnered over 2,000 likes.
The Eagles won against Kansas City convincingly. They led from start to finish for a 40-22 victory that ended the Chiefs’ reign as NFL champions.
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts won Super Bowl MVP after passing for 221 yards and two touchdowns with an interception on 17-of-22 pass completions. In addition, Hurts had 72 rushing yards and a touchdown on 11 carries for the Eagles, who outgained Kansas City by a wide margin, 345-275.
Trout can only hope for now that he can also win a championship in MLB, though, that’s hard to imagine happening right away in 2025. The Angels have not made the MLB postseason since 2014, and in 2024, the Halos finished last in the American League West division with a 63-99 record – LA’s worst ever in a 162-game campaign.
