After setting a franchise record by winning 14 consecutive games, the Milwaukee Brewers have lost six of their previous nine contests and have seen their lead in the National League Central Division fall to five games over the second-place Chicago Cubs. Now, they continue their homestand with a four-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, who are 64-67 on the season.

Over the course of the last several games, the Brewers have had to do some roster juggling as players have sustained injuries while others have returned from them or are in the midst of their rehab assignments. Their long stretch of playing on consecutive days has also meant that the team has needed to get creative with what pitchers they use and for how long.

And as they head into this series against Arizona, they are doing a little bit more juggling.

The Milwaukee Brewers Have Placed Grant Anderson on the Injured List

Earlier on Monday afternoon, the Brewers announced four different roster moves that will slightly change up their pitching situation.

Grant Anderson, who has drawn the ire of fans as of late, was placed on the 15-day injured list with right ankle tendonitis. Despite his recent struggles, at least in the eyes of fans, the fact remains that he is one of the better relief pitchers in baseball this year. He has thrown the 11th-most innings of any reliever and has a respectable 2.87 ERA. He also has allowed just six of 30 inherited runners to score.

In addition to Anderson going on the injured list, Milwaukee optioned Chad Patrick back to Triple-A Nashville. He threw 5.1 innings of two run ball while recording seven strikeouts against the San Francisco Giants on Sunday.

To replace Anderson and Patrick, the Brewers are calling up reliever Easton McGee and Tobias Myers from the Sounds.

In seven games with Milwaukee this season, McGee has a 7.36 ERA.

Myers, who was a starter last season, is 1-1 with a 3.90 ERA in 12 games (six starts) for the Brewers this season.
