MLR Week 15 Highlights: Gold At The Edge, Warriors On The Rise In Crunch-Time Clash

This Saturday, May 24, at 7 p.m. ET, NOLA Gold faces the Utah Warriors at The Gold Mine at the Shrine on Airline, a game where victory hinges on the slimmest of margins.

The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+, KJZZ, and the Gulf Coast Sports Network. NOLA Gold finds itself in a precarious position entering Week 15. More than just a home advantage is needed; they are desperate for a win.

Following a recent loss to Old Glory DC, where Julian Roberts scored the sole try alongside a penalty, the team is now seven points adrift from the Eastern Conference playoff line, intensifying the pressure.

Utah, however, has been struggling throughout May. Last week saw them fall to Houston by 21 points despite dominating possession, territory, and carry meters. 

Keen to halt a three-game losing streak and maintain their pursuit of a top playoff seed, the Warriors are eager to reverse their fortunes. Their offensive firepower remains a threat as they lead the league with 419 points scored this season.

During their March game, Utah triumphed 55-21 in what could only be described as a decisive win, with Joey Mano scoring a hat trick. It was not just Mano, as eight different Warriors managed to cross the try line.

Last week, Frank Lochore remained a defensive stalwart for Utah, registering 14 tackles and a try. Jonah Mau’u continues to anchor NOLA with 15 carries, 19 tackles, and a crucial turnover against DC.
