MMA Insiders Slam McGregor’s Sparring – ‘Old Drunk, Has-Been, Gym Bully’

MMA insiders have reacted to Conor McGregor’s sparring footage in Italy, resulting in a strong reaction. 

McGregor is back in the UFC testing pool, having expressed his desire to fight in the UFC once again. He has eyes on appearing on the UFC White House card next year, as he seeks his first fight since losing to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021. McGregor was set to make his comeback at UFC 303 to face Michael Chandler. However, he withdrew after suffering a broken toe, extending his inactivity. The Irishman still has two fights left on his UFC contract, as all eyes are on his comeback. However, Daniel Cormier does not see McGregor returning.

McGregor’s Return

“It’s over for him. Conor McGregor … he’s trippin’. He made way too much [money]. He went from plumbing to making … he sold that liquor for what, $500 million? It’s too much. He got $100 million for fighting Floyd [Mayweather]. Then he was doing pay per views like nothing. Him and Khabib did two and a half million pay per views.

“Conor says he wants to fight all the time and everybody kind of … they jump to it. But it’s like, he wants to stay relevant. He wants to stay in the news. He wants the notoriety of being Conor McGregor without having to be Conor McGregor. And that kind of sucks because when he was the man, I bet you tapped into the UFC more than ever because he could sell a fight. He was good. He was very good,” Cormier stated

And yet, McGregor was still staying in the gym. The following clip shows McGregor in a class going through some drills with striking and grappling, as he gives some pointers to other students. While McGregor was focused, the response has been far from impressive.
