Moorehead trailed 4-1 with just over 10 minutes left, but the defending champs stormed all the way back to win their second straight title 5-4 over Minnetonka in double overtime.

Jordan Johnson got the scoring started early, finding the back of the net just over five minutes into the game. The Skippers came out of the gates hot with two more goals in the first period from Ethan Sturgis and Cash Hardie. They carried a 3-0 lead into the first intermission.

Moorhead finally got on the board with just over eight minutes left in the second period. Michael Herman was the first player to score for the defending champs. Minnetonka added one more goal from Max Aronson, and carried a commanding 4-1 lead into the final period.

The Spuds had one more push left in them. Joey Cullen added a goal midway through the third period to make it 4-2, and a Brandon Mickelson deflection pulled them within one goal less than five minutes later.

Moorhead pulled its goaltender, and Zac Zimmerman tied the game with 35 seconds left. Forcing the second overtime of the championship Saturday, following Class A's thrilling final.

They needed two overtimes to decide a winner until Evan Wanner delivered the game-winner.

Moorhead finally broke their streak with a state title last year, and now they've won two in a row.
