The Oklahoma City Thunder entered Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday night looking to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the series.

Of course, the Thunder were able to use a dominant second half in Game 1 on Tuesday night to take a 1-0 lead in the series and they were able to pick up another victory on Thursday night in Game 2.

While the Thunder struggled in the first half of Game 1, that was not the case in Game 2 on Thursday as they led by eight points at halftime.

Oklahoma City was then able to outscore Minnesota 35-21 in the third quarter and they never looked back, picking up the 118-103 victory and also taking a commanding 2-0 series lead.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way for the Thunder on Thursday night as the NBA MVP recorded 38 points, three rebounds, eight assists and three steals in the victory.

Jalen Williams added 26 points, 10 rebounds and five assists of his own while Chet Holmgren ended the game with 22 points, four rebounds and two assists.

It was another dominant victory for Oklahoma City and they also made NBA history in Thursday’s Game 2 win.

The NBA announced that Thursday’s victory was the Thunder’s 60th victory of the season by 10 or more points in the regular season and playoffs combined.

They also mentioned that Oklahoma City is only the second team in NBA history to accomplish the feat with the other team being the 2016-17 Golden State Warriors.

Of course, the 2016-17 Warriors went on to win the championship after they defeated LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love’s Cleveland Cavaliers in five games in the NBA Finals.

This is an impressive feat for the Thunder and they hope that history will repeat itself as they are also looking to end the season hoisting the Larry O’Brien trophy.

They first have to get past the Timberwolves in the Western Conference Finals as the series now shifts to Minnesota for Game 3 on Saturday night.
