NBA Makes OKC Thunder Announcement During Playoffs

Things shifted as the series headed to Memphis for Game 3, though, as the Grizzlies dominated the Thunder in the first half of game 3.

Disaster then struck for Memphis ahead of halftime as their star point guard Ja Morant suffered a hip injury and the Thunder were able to complete the 29-point comeback to take a 3-0 series lead.

Oklahoma City was then able to close out the series in Game 4 behind an incredible performance from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, sweeping their way past the Grizzlies and into the second round.

Now, the Thunder are waiting to see who they will play in the second round as the series between the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers has gone to seven games with Game 7 coming on Saturday.

Ahead of Oklahoma City’s second round series against either Los Angeles or Denver, the NBA made a massive announcement regarding when the series will begin, which involves the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets series.

If the Rockets are able to extend the series against the Warriors on Friday, then the Thunder’s series against either the Nuggets or Clippers will begin on Monday, May 5.

On the other hand, if the Warriors are able to clinch their series against the Rockets on Friday night, then Oklahoma City’s second round series will begin on Tuesday, May 6.

Of course, the reasoning behind this is due to television reasons but either way, the Thunder will be the more well-rested team heading into the second round while the Nuggets or Clippers will be coming off a Game 7 on Saturday.
