The Los Angeles Lakers have had a relatively quiet 2025 NBA draft week.
L.A. did trade up, twice, in the second round to select former Arkansas forward Adou Thiero with the No. 36 pick.
Earlier this month the Lakers also, of course, saw the Buss family's 66% controlling stake in the franchise get sold, at an approximately $10 billion valuation (i.e. $6.6 billion was sold), to Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Sparks part owner Mark Walter.
As free agency looms next week, the Lakers appear to be getting their Las Vegas Summer League roster in order, and are examining several undrafted young prospects the team's front office considers worthy of closer examination.
The Lakers made headlines once again Friday when the Maryland Terrapins' official X account announced that L.A. had inked undrafted free agent Julian "Juju" Reese to a new contract.
Although the exact nature of the deal is unclear, it would make sense as an Exhibit 10 training camp contract.
Exhibit 10 signings can still compete for a two-way slot, and players can become eligible for $85,000 signing bonuses even if they're waived before the season — provided they spend at least 60 days on a team's G League affiliate.
Congrats to @Reese10Julian on signing with the Lakers! pic.twitter.com/gsy0ee5zR6

Normally, an Exhibit 10 signing wouldn't set the web ablaze.
But Reese is the younger brother to one of the WNBA's most popular players, All-Star Chicago Sky power forward Angel Reese.
The basketball world had a variety of opinions on the move.
Maryland fan @MDSportsGuy1 responded, "Already better [than] Bronny."
Already better then Bronny

Another fan, @LBJcrib, took a dig at Juju's big sister.
Hopefully bro can make layups
