After a long quarterback evaluation period for the 2027 recruiting class, Notre Dame football decided that two talented signal callers were the early priorities for them. Those names to know are Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb fast riser Teddy Jarrard and Shreveport (La.) Evangel Christian Academy star Peyton Houston.
In the case of Jarrard, he has been one of the hotter quarterback risers to follow this offseason. Everywhere you turn, it feels like he is making more headlines and grabbing everyone’s attention. That includes at the OT7 Championships sponsored by Overtime, a 7-on-7 tournament featuring some of the top college football recruits from across the high school ranks.
Following the event, director of scouting and rankings for Rivals Charles Power released his stock risers. Jarrard was the only 2027 recruit included on that list.

Jarrard has continued to rise up the rankings this offseason. He is now considered a four-star player according to the On3 Industry ranking. That rating has Jarrard currently pegged as the No. 176 overall player, No. 13 quarterback, and No. 22 player in the state of Georgia for the 2026 recruiting class.
247Sports continues to rank Jarrard as a three-star player, but that shouldn’t last much longer.
Like his recruiting rankings, Jarrard’s offer list has also continued to get more and more impressive. Some of his top offers so far include the Fighting Irish, Ohio State, Georgia, Miami, Auburn, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Indiana, UNC, NC State, Illinois, Mississippi State, Syracuse, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Minnesota, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Duke, and Cincinnati among several others.
The 6-3, 195-pound passer experienced a breakout season in 2024. In his first year as the full time starter, Jarrard threw for 2,647 yards and 31 touchdowns while only throwing five interceptions and completing nearly 72 percent of his passes. The Georgia native also added another rushing score on the ground.
As of today, Jarrard is the more likely target for Notre Dame compared to Houston. The Georgia native is a gifted thrower of the football, and brings a really nice frame to continue to build on. There is a lot of upside to be really excited with concerning Jarrard.
