Indiana Fever fans experienced another proper scare on Tuesday night as they hosted the Seattle Storm in a home game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. This came in the form of Lexie Hull being forced to exit the contest early in the first quarter after a head injury.

Hull butted heads with Storm star Gabby Williams as they both went for a loose ball. It was a scary collision that saw both players immediately hit the deck. Hull and Williams stayed down on the floor for a while before the Fever guard headed to the locker room to get herself checked. Williams, on the other hand, remained on the Seattle bench.

Lexie Hull Returns to Game After Head Injury

The good news for the Indiana faithful is that Hull has dodged another head injury here. In Sunday’s 97-84 loss to the Minnesota Lynx, Hull took a nasty elbow to the face courtesy of Kayla McBride. Hull fell to the ground as well, but was eventually able to return to the game.

This was the case yet again on Tuesday as Hull checked back into the contest in the second quarter, despite having a sizeable knot on her forehead.

Fans Heap Praise on Hull

Fever fans just had to give Hull her flowers after not letting the head injury take her out of the game.

"Lexie Hull is the toughest @wnba player in the league. She’s taking on cheap shots and heads, yet doesn’t miss a beat," a comment on X read.

"Lexie just built different. A straight beast. Give her whatever she wants next season!" said another.

"Say what you want but Lexie Hull is a warrior on the court. Nothing can stop this girl. Just amazing " a user wrote.

"People don't realize how tough Lexie hull is. She played nearly an entire Final Four game vs UConn with blood gushing out of both nostrils," reminded another.

"Lexie Hull is truly something so special, man. So happy she wasn’t seriously hurt. This girl is tough as nails," a reaction read.

"Lexie Hull tough as nails bro," declared a fan.

Fever’s Injury Crisis

The last thing Indiana needs right now is another injury. Sophie Cunningham recently joined Aari McDonald and Sydney Colson on the shelf with season-ending injuries, while forward Chloe Bibby sat out for a third straight game on Tuesday due to a left knee issue.

Most importantly, Caitlin Clark still does not have a timetable for her return from a lingering groin injury. The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year has been out since mid-July, but the good news is that she appears to be making significant progress in her road to recovery.

Nevertheless, Fever fans were still able to breathe a big sigh of relief after Hull dodged an injury on Tuesday.
