Soon-to-be former AS Monaco forward Stevan Jovetic was among the early attacking talents that were linked with a possible move to Lazio.
Biancocelesti officials targeted Jovetic due to impending status as a free agent and experience in playing in Serie A, which includes a notable stint with Fiorentina.

However, Lazio is now planning to no longer consider Jovetic for a possible free transfer deal.
The Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi notes that Lazio showed a great interest in signing the former Manchester City talent, but his “high salary” request turned away club officials.
It is not known whether Jovetic would be willing to lower his yearly salary demands in order to possibly facilitate a move to Lazio.
Lazio will now look elsewhere for attacking reinforcements, especially with players that will be free agents in a few weeks.
The Rome-based side is well aiming to bolster its attack and sign wingers for new manager Maurizio Sarri’s projected 4-3-3 setup.
