NEW YORK — As the Giants 2026 NFL Draft center search heats up, general manager Joe Schoen has a clear mission: keep quarterback Jaxson Dart upright. The New York Giants surrendered too much interior pressure last season, and the front office is looking for late-round gems who bring instant versatility. Enter Texas A&M offensive lineman Trey Zuhn III. He logged an elite 96.8 pass-blocking grade in the SEC last season. He stops defensive tackles in their tracks.

The Big Move Inside

Zuhn spent most of his collegiate career protecting the blind side at left tackle. NFL scouts see a different future. Measuring in at the Senior Bowl at 6-foot-6 and 309 pounds, his 32 7/8-inch arms flag him as a liability against elite NFL edge rushers. Slide him inside to center or guard, and those physical limitations vanish. Zuhn seamlessly transitioned to the pivot in 2025, taking 126 snaps at center for the Aggies. His lateral agility and elite hand placement allow him to lock onto defensive tackles and dictate the trenches.

He does not just block; he dictates the line of scrimmage. His wide base absorbs heavy bull rushes, keeping the pocket clean. You could practically hear the pads popping in Mobile during the Senior Bowl practices when he proved he could handle massive nose tackles one-on-one. While he needs to generate more vertical push in the run game, his pass-protection fundamentals are Day 1 ready.

“I’ve played tackle my whole life, but sliding inside just felt natural. I want to be the guy calling the protections and keeping the quarterback clean. Whatever a team needs, I’m ready to dominate that spot.”
— Trey Zuhn III, Texas A&M Offensive Lineman

Playoff Implications / What’s Next

The Giants hold four picks between Rounds 4 and 6 in the upcoming draft. Head coach John Harbaugh is building a hard-nosed culture in New York, and adding a high-floor developmental piece like Zuhn perfectly aligns with that vision. If starting center options dry up in free agency, New York can grab Zuhn early on Day 3. He projects as a reliable backup immediately with the physical tools to evolve into a full-time starter by 2027.
