Newcastle United and Bayern Munich are in talks to land Manchester United target Nicolas Jackson

Manchester United’s last season was nothing short of a dreaded nightmare. The team finished 15th in the Premier League, lost the Europa League final against Tottenham and were knocked out of Europe for the next season. Ruben Amorim was appointed manager mid-season, but the change did not improve the situation.

The biggest problem came from the striker position, where both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee had little impact. The club continued to lack goals, and that is why it became necessary to buy a striker in the summer transfer window. Eventually, United brought in Benjamin Sesko to infuse new life into the forward line.

Reports related to Nicolas Jackson

Now it comes to Nicolas Jackson, whose name was linked to United even before the club signed Sesko. It was then hoped that bringing him from Chelsea might be an option, as the need for a new striker was clearly visible for the Red Devils. However, Sacha Tavolieri now reports that Jackson’s agent Ali Barat will try to send him to FC Bayern or Newcastle United in the coming days. Both clubs are reportedly in advanced talks with Chelsea and are ready to agree to the player’s terms. Interestingly, Bayern will not pay a direct transfer fee, but the deal will be done under a separate financial arrangement.

United may have been linked with the Senegal striker in the past, but the club’s priorities have changed after bringing in Sesko. Chelsea are currently asking a high price for Jackson, and in a situation like United, where the team need squad balance and stability, there seems to be no need for such an expensive backup. Sesko has given the team a new face, and now the focus should be on settling him, not on getting distracted by another new name.

Opinion:

From Manchester United’s point of view, chasing Nicolas Jackson is no longer of any use. Sesko has already arrived and is ready to be the face of United, with Zirkzee as his substitute. Bringing in the 24-year-old Chelsea striker would cost more and could also create an imbalance in the squad.

If Bayern or Newcastle United sign him, it should not affect our club. Sesko is obviously the long-term and best choice for the club over Jackson, and right now, we don’t need to be influenced by anything that happens regarding the future of the Senegal international. In my opinion, United should now be patient and trust the Slovenian and try to offload Hojlund as soon as possible, which we are still struggling to do at this moment in time. Our focus should now be on reinforcing the defensive midfield position and the goalkeeper position, as we are looking at Senne Lammens for the role of our new shot-stopper.
