NFL Draft: Betting off the buzz with the first round tonight

Yes, you can bet on the NFL Draft, and yes, we have bets on tonight's events.

While you may want to lower your wager sizes on a spectacle like the NFL Draft, we have won bets in this market, and there is a rich variety of offered markets. Prices have been fluctuating for weeks off rumors and reports, similar to the stock market, and the dust is all but settling with us just a few hours away from the first round.

We've had our ear to the ground, here's what we're hearing ahead of tonight's festivities and where we're going with some bets.

JC Latham first OL taken (+130 DraftKings)

There is growing smoke, seemingly out of nowhere, that JC Latham is going to go fifth overall to the Los Angeles Chargers.

There's been a growing sentiment that we will not see much movement at the top of the draft, with the first four picks expected to go Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye and Marvin Harrison.

The Chargers need OL help, and while they want to trade down, may not find a suitor. In such a scenario, they'll be forced to stick and pick, and the emerging sentiment is that Alabama's Latham is their guy.

The appeal of Latham over Notre Dame's Joe Alt is that Latham is a natural RT, which is where the Chargers are hoping to plug someone in, with former All-Pro Rashawn Slater entrenched on the left side.

Three plugged-in draft experts in Daniel Jeremiah, Peter Schrager and Field Yates have all published their final mock drafts, and all three have Latham going fifth. We're biting on the rumors with this bet.

Las Vegas Raiders to draft quarterback first (+200 FanDuel)

Speaking of rumors, the growing interest between the Raiders and Washington's Michael Penix Jr. seems to be at an all-time high, and sitting at No. 13, Las Vegas seems to be in a strong spot to nab the lefty passer.

FanDuel has the Raiders as the favorite to land Penix at +170, but they're concurrently hanging a +200 price on quarterback to be Vegas's first drafted position. We'll turn there instead.

Philadelphia Eagles to draft OL first (+105 DraftKings)

We've touched on the Eagles a few weeks back, and foresaw this OL bet inching closer to even-money and away from the +270 price sportsbooks had posted back in early April.

We still believe in our read, and we also believe Philly is going to move up in the draft to nab a lineman like Tailese Fuaga.

GM Howie Roseman had an interesting quote last week when discussing succession plans for stars.

Lane Johnson has likely just a few years left, and there is also a hole at RG. A logical pick here is for Philly to grab a guy who can play guard in the interim and eventually kick out to RT to replace Johnson.

That is still the path we feel best about with draft day upon us.

Enjoy tonight, and just remember to not go too crazy with bets!
