The NFL offseason has been filled with trade requests and star player disputes. Micah Parsons and Jakobi Meyers have led this group of requests. These are some possible suitors that make sense for the two players.
Parsons is one of the best players in the NFL, and he has been the talk of the league ever since he requested a trade. The Dallas Cowboys have been reluctant to trade him to this point, but here are two teams that could put together a nice offer to acquire the star edge rusher.
The New England Patriots make a ton of sense here, as they have loads of cap space remaining, even after their active free agency. Parsons would give Mike Vrabel a massive upgrade on the defensive line and a huge weapon to use as they look to revamp their defensive core. If they can land him, their defense would immediately jump to one of the premier groups in the NFL.
The Green Bay Packers make the most sense for acquiring Parsons, and they have been discussed the most amongst any NFL teams when it comes to a trade. They have young players and draft picks they could throw to the Cowboys for Parsons, and they have a need at EDGE. The NFC North is an extremely competitive division, and Parsons would give the Packers added power to fight for it.
Meyers is the most recent NFL player to request a trade, as he has yet to reach an agreement on a contract with the Las Vegas Raiders. He would make for a fantastic WR2 on a contending team in need of receiver help. These are two teams that could use his services.
The Minnesota Vikings have been searching for a veteran receiver to replace Joran Addison as he serves his suspension for the first three weeks. Meyers would be the best receiver they could get at this point in the offseason and would make for a great trio once Addison returns. His trade request came out of nowhere, but the Vikings still have a hole at receiver and could act quickly to get a deal done.
The Pittsburgh Steelers traded away their number two receiver, George Pickens, earlier in the year, but they have an opportunity to get an upgrade from their current WR situation. Meyers would give Aaron Rodgers another target, helping Pittsburgh become a much more dynamic offense. The Steelers have some receivers ready to make an impact, but Meyers gives them a chance to win right now.
Trade requests have been the story of the NFL offseason, and if no deal is reached soon, a trade is what makes the most sense. These teams are all good fits as they look for impact players that will help fill spots heading into 2025.
