Nick Saban knows how it feels to lose to Michigan on the last game of the season with the Wolverines defeating him and Alabama in the Rose Bowl in the last game of his head coaching career.

The Tide were defeated by Michigan yet again in the ReliaQuest Bowl Tuesday in Tampa, Florida.

Saban shared his thoughts on the game on ESPN College Gameday.

“Turnovers just kill you in a game, and obviously Alabama had two or three of them early in the game,” Saban said, “Michigan’s guys played well in the game. I don’t think Alabama did.”

The former Alabama coach also said he feels the disappointment of not making the playoff played in role in the game’s outcome.

“I think one of the big things that’s always been an issue is for all these teams that have a chance to get in the playoffs and don’t, it’s always…a huge letdown when you go play in a bowl game.”
