The ESPN "College GameDay" show will look much different in 2025. In April, it was revealed that Lee Corso will be ending his career with "College GameDay" this year after 38 years as part of the show.
"After 38 incredible years, Lee Corso is retiring. For multiple generations, Coach has been the face of our Saturday mornings and the sport we love. Our friend, our coach, our heart ... LC, you will forever be a College GameDay legend!" the post read.
The 89-year-old has undoubtedly become a legend on the set, and his famous headgear has been a welcome sight for fans for a long time.
But, Week 1 of the 2025 season is the final one, and it will be on August 30.
Former Alabama head coach and current member of the "College GameDay" crew, Nick Saban, was asked how it will be as Corso finishes his career on College GameDay in Week 1.
"Coach Corso, he's a legend," Saban said via The Next Round podcast. "Putting on the hat every week as to who's gonna win, everybody in America knows what that means. He's a great guy, he's a good person, he's been on the set for like 27 years or something, so we're definitely going to miss him, but I'm looking forward to that first show that he's going to be with us."
"We're going to miss him," Saban concluded.
Since 1987, Corso has been a part of "College GameDay", so his stepping away with be an emotional scene for everybody and will take some getting used to.
But Saban is just looking forward to that final time he can share the set with Corso.
