At Money in the Bank, John Cena announced that he would bid adieu to his illustrious WWE career in 2025. Since this shocking revelation, several wrestlers have lined up to square off against Cena during his retirement tour. One of The Cenation Leader’s biggest rivals, CM Punk , has also spoken about potentially facing him next year. Recently, Punk opined on who Cena will likely face in his final WWE match.
During an interview with 103.5 KISSFM, The Second City Saint said that along with him, the 16-time World Champion could face Randy Orton in his farewell bout. However, Punk asserted that it was unlikely to happen. Knowing how Cena operates, he will prefer squaring off against someone he hasn’t shared the ring with before.
Moreover, Punk predicted that the Peacemaker star’s final opponent could be the current World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther. The Straight Edge Superstar claimed that Cena will set his sights on passing the torch on his way out. In fact, the unpredictability surrounding his retirement tour is what makes it special.
You could say Randy. I think some people would say me. Knowing John, I’m assuming it’s going to be somebody new, someone he can hand the baton to. So it might be GUNTHER, it might be somebody that he has his eye on that nobody else is really seeing.

Young stars such as Carmelo Hayes have expressed their desire to step inside the squared circle against Cena. Furthermore, reports suggest that WWE has planned a marquee bout between the Franchise Player and Logan Paul.
Other than running back rivalries and fulfilling dream matches, fans are hoping for John Cena to surpass Ric Flair and finally become a 17-time World Champion. So far, the future HOF’er has confirmed that he will work around 35 dates in 2025 and has vowed to appear on the first Raw episode of the Netflix era.
Since returning to WWE, CM Punk has majorly interacted on-screen with Drew McIntyre. The pair’s rivalry has been one of the biggest parts of WWE programming this year. After Punk emerged victorious at Bash in Berlin, he made the grave mistake of believing this feud was over.
Two days later, McIntyre unleashed a hellacious attack on The Second City Saint. Not only did he deliver four ruthless Claymores, but The Scottish Warrior crossed the line when he broke Punk’s family bracelet and shoved the beads down his throat.
The Best in the World believed that there was no other choice than to end this rivalry inside Hell in a Cell. Both Punk and McIntyre have promised to make each other ‘bleed’ at Bad Blood. Therefore, fans are expecting these two to deliver the most violent WWE bout in years.
