NOLA Gold is set to take on Old Glory DC this Saturday, April 12, at 7 p.m. ET at The Gold Mine at The Shrine at Airline. Fans can catch the high-energy Eastern Conference duel live on ESPN+. Fresh off a solid 33-19 victory against Anthem RC in Week 8, NOLA is riding a genuine wave of momentum. Although the teams have traded blows over the years, Old Glory did manage a close 27-24 win against NOLA Gold last June.
Center JP du Plessis, who covered 73 meters on 12 carries while finding the try line, now faces a challenge from an Old Glory side still buzzing after a comfortable 29-12 win over Seattle Seawolves. There, center Nick Grigg not only chipped in with a try but also forced a turnover with a strong two-way effort.
Old Glory DC is currently in second place in the East and is leading the league with an impressive 1,243 total passes and 1,158 completions, clearly showing their fluid, fast, and smooth style of play on offense. Meanwhile, NOLA Gold is hoping that their rugged, physical style can disrupt Old Glory's rhythm early in the game, just like they did against Anthem when they managed to score four tries in the first half.
To top off the night, the game doubles as NOLA’s “Crown Jewel” themed night, which promises a mix of action on the field and extra entertainment. In their last match, both teams earned bonus points for scoring tries. Fans can expect some fireworks when these teams meet again.
