An important 2024 Notre Dame recruit who isn’t talked about enough is Coatesville (Pa.) Malvern Prep offensive lineman Peter Jones. Having committed last August, Jones has been locked in for so long that he is often forgotten by Irish fans.
The staff clearly hasn’t forgotten about him. With Jones how officially in the class, the next step is getting ready to head to South Bend.
"It feels like a dream come true,” Jones told Irish Breakdown. "I am so grateful for everything and so excited to start the next chapter of my life. I can’t wait to get started.”
Jones spent the signing day with his support system, which included his parents, friends, coaches and family.
Since he committed, Jones has become a pillar of the 2024 recruiting class for the Irish. He has built a strong bond with the other recruits on the way. Jones has high expectations for how special the group can be.
"I think the sky's the limit,” he explained. "With hard work, we can do some special things.”
Jones also has high expectations for himself. The 6-5, 300-pound offensive lineman is hoping to make an early impact. That doesn’t typically happen for offensive lineman but that hasn’t halted Jones’ expectations.
"My goal is to improve in all facets of my game and make myself the best I can be to hopefully give me the opportunity to play,” Jones said. "I want to have a big impact on those around me. I hope to be a positive energy and helpful to everyone.”
