The Ohio State Buckeyes already have a commitment from four-star quarterback Brady Edmunds in the 2027 recruiting class. But who the program will land behind center for 2026 remains to be seen.

On3's Mick Walker reported Friday that the Buckeyes will be pushing hard this weekend to turn four-star signal-caller Luke Fahey into that quarterback commit.

"The Buckeyes are still searching for their 2026 signal-caller," Walker wrote. "Fahey may be the leader in the clubhouse for that spot.

"The 6-foot-1, 193-pound Fahey has also visited Indiana and Stanford this summer."

Based on Walker's list of expected visitors, Fahey is scheduled to be the only quarterback in Columbus, Ohio for the Buckeyes during the weekend of June 20.

Walker reported the Buckeyes will have 17 official visitors during the weekend.

Of those 17 prospects, 10 of them are undecided while seven of them are already committed to Ohio State.

The 247Sports Composite rankings rated Fahey the No. 23 signal-caller and 33rd-best California recruit in the 2026 class.

Standing at 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds, Fahey is in the top 400 overall at No. 355 on the same rankings.

It's a little late in the recruiting cycle for a prestigious program such as Ohio State to not have a quarterback committed for the upcoming year's class. But the Buckeyes have performed well on the recruiting trail despite no quarterback commit.

The 247Sports rankings had Ohio State's 2026 class rated No. 4 overall Saturday. Only the USC Trojans, Texas A&M Aggies and Notre Dame Fighting Irish were ranked ahead of Ohio State.

The Buckeyes were also fourth despite having just 16 commits. The three schools ahead of them all have at least 19 pledges.
