The easy part. Ball State is long gone out of the bowl mix after a three-game losing streak, and head coach Mike Neu was fired, but it can play the spoiler role … maybe. It’s the regular season finale for the Cardinals.

If Ohio wins, it’s playing for the MAC Championship next week. At the same time this is going on, Bowling Green and Miami University are playing - the loser is out if the Bobcats win.

The hard part. If Ohio loses, it’s out if Bowling Green wins - the Bobcats lost to Miami University. If the RedHawks win, then it gets iffy.

So for Ohio, just win, Bobcats.

Ohio vs Ball State: Who Will Win?

Ball State overall hasn’t been all that bad for a 3-8 team.

The passing game is okay, but the running attack isn’t strong enough and run D is absent far too often.

The biggest issue, though, is keeping teams from converting on third downs. Ohio is No. 1 in the MAC at third down conversions hitting at a 46% clip.

The Bobcats will run for at least 200 yards - averaging well over five yards per carry - and will be in control from the start.

Ball State will throw everything at the wall in the final game of the year, but Ohio will steadily rumble into the MAC Championship.
