Oklahoma Sooners 2025 recruit decommits before the inevitable happens
USA TODAY Sports

The Oklahoma Sooners have lost yet another commit -- their second one in ten days. Not long ago, they lost Floyd Boucard, so now, their 2025 recruiting class for the defensive line position looks a bit thin. And, that's because it is.

Now, the Sooners' 2025 class has just two defensive linemen in edge rusher Alexander Shieldnight and interior defender Trent Wilson. They will have until December to find one more.

Lee’s Summit North in Missouri has a defensive lineman in the 2025 class by the name of Ka’Mori Moore, who was committed to the Sooners in July 2023 but has now de-committed from Oklahoma, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Moore chose them over Nebraska, Iowa State, and other schools.

The thought is, that Moore decommitted because he simply won't get the playing time he is looking for as a freshman, and maybe even during his senior season. That could be completely untrue because look at true freshman Jayden Jackson on the Sooners, who plays the same position and made the initial two-deep as a starter.

There are also thoughts from the fan base that the Sooners had him on a visit, and it just wasn't a match, which happens often, more than you may think. We don't know the official reason why, and we may not ever know, but it seemed like this was going to happen for a while now.

Moore will be a great player in college football wherever he goes.

Despite this loss, OU’s class still stands as one of the best in the country, ranking No. 11 in the updated On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

They have 13 blue-chippers (1 five-star and 12 four-stars).
