Oklahoma Sooners have a legit shot at getting one of the 25 best high school players in the country

Porter Moser and the Oklahoma Sooners are recruiting pretty much as good as any school in the country right now that isn't considered a blue blood. This basketball program is so obviously headed in a positive direction, and it's largely because of the work that Moser and his recruiting staff are putting in.

Sure, the Sooners aren't getting commits left and right, but they are in these conversations and top-five for a lot of elite players. Even if they don't land some of these players, the fact that they're in the conversation is huge. The recruiting is improving massively. And now they have a legit shot at landing one of the best 25 players in the country for their 2026 class.

Sooners have a chance to land 2026 PG Miles Sadler

Oklahoma is not a basketball school, by any means. It's football and softball culture and history that dominate the other sports very badly. But that doesn't mean that Basketball can't be a huge part of the school's athletics. Both the men's and women's have seen dramatic changes over the last year or so.

For Moser, landing Sadler would be a huge move.

According to On3, Sadler is the No. 4 point guard in the 2026 class and the No. 2 player from Arizona. Sadler is a four-star point guard, with a composite rating of 95.66, meaning he is pretty close to being a five-star. Not that the stars really matter, because Moser and his staff don't look at that -- they look at the players' overall tape and what kind of person they are. The stars mean nothing. However, for us, the people not doing the actual recruiting who want a good barometer of how to tell how well a team is doing, the stars are good.

Four-star or not, the Sadler kid can play. This is a guy who would probably start right away for Oklahoma next season. Rivals and ESPN both have Sadler as the No. 23 player in the country. At the high school level, he's a complete point guard, with the skillset to be a factor immediately.

On3 has West Virginia as the team projected to get Sadler. However, Oklahoma is second in the projections. On Sunday, we will see if Sadler joins Gage Mayfield, the only signee so far, in this OU class.
