The Oklahoma Sooners are about to enter the 2025 offseason with some really big roster needs. They have already had so many players enter the transfer portal, and it may not be slowing down, either. Not to mention the players that are entering the draft and the seniors graduating. Luckily the Sooners have 18 freshmen coming in for the 2025 class.
But, those 18 alone won't fill all of the needs the Sooners have. They will have to do some work in the transfer portal, and so far they have already been pretty active. In fact, they have already sent out an offer to a pretty big wide receiver, a position group they should be targeting heavily.
According to the player himself on Twitter, the Sooners have offered former Miami of Ohio wide receiver Reginald Virgil a scholarship offer.
Virgil has the size and production that the Sooners are looking for. They need bigger-body receivers that also have a bit of speed and ability to get open. And, he had the production last year, too.
Virgil finished 2024 with over 800 receiving yards on 41 catches and had nine touchdowns. And, he's 6'4", 190 pounds. He's a player that the Sooners could certainly use this year. Now, it's just about whether or not he will accept the offer.
