Now, the inaugural season of AUSL will conclude this upcoming week back out east. The action has been amazing in all facets as players are looking to take home some individual hardware. Here, fewer games means fewer opportunities to make an impression . That being said, here is a recap of Game 44 of the AUSL season in Round Rock, Texas.

Game 44: Texas-Sized Homers At Dell Diamond

Although the Volts won’t make the postseason, they had much to play for as the bats started early against the Bandits. Tiare Jennings hit an RBI single in the top of the first for the Volts. Yet, the Bandits answered in the bottom of the inning with a Skylar Wallace two-run homer. The Volts plated five runs in the second inning for a 7-2 lead.

For starters, Ciara Briggs, Amanda Lorenz, and Mia Scott scored on a throwing error as Danieca Coffey also scored on a throwing error. Finally, Jennings capped the inning with a homer. Jessi Warren added another solo long ball in the top of the fifth.

The Bandits would hit two more homers: first a solo one from Delanie Wisz in the sixth and another two-run shot from Wallace in the seventh. Wallace is third in the AUSL this season with six home runs.

Ultimately, the Volts got win No. 7 with the 7-5 win as Payton Gottshall gets her second win on the season for the Volts.

What’s Next For All Four AUSL Teams

Ahead of the postseason, the actions heads back to Rosemont, Illinois while making its debut in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The Volts and the Talons face off at Rhoads Stadium in Tuscaloosa while the Blaze and Bandits at The Stadium At Parkway Bank Sports Complex. Fans can catch the action on ESPN2 (Volts – Talons) and MLB.com (Blaze – Bandits).
