One of the nation's top 2027 football recruits is set to visit the Tennessee Vols

One of the top 2027 football recruits in the nation is reportedly set to visit the Tennessee Vols. 

2027 four-star offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller told 247Sports this week that he has a visit "locked in" with Tennessee. 

Hiller, 6-foot-5/300 lbs from Coatesville, Pa., is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 interior offensive lineman in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of Pennsylvania. He's also rated as the No. 35 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class. 

The Pennsylvania native is also expected to visit Penn State, Oregon and Florida this summer. 

Scouting report via 247Sports: One of the best pure run blockers in the 2027 recruiting cycle. On-schedule traveler who flashes occasional punch as a puller and climber. Quick off the ball with purposeful movements and limited wasted motion. Plays basketball (has a younger brother with power conference hoops offers in the 2028 class). Owns promising testing numbers from freshman year. Would like more pass pro context, but fights defenders' hands effectively and shows requisite agility to stay in front of arc runners. One of the highest-floor offensive line prospects in this class and could potentially possess significant long-term upside with more third party-verified data. Ideally may wind up at guard, but moves well enough to play outside. Projects to the high-major level with the potential to become a pro prospect.

"First things that come to mind are Orange and Rocky Top," said Hiller to 247Sports of his interest in the Vols. "I know the Nico (Iamaleava) situation, but I like coach (Josh) Heupel and (offensive line) coach (Glen) Elarbee."

It'll be tough to beat out Penn State for Hiller, but the Vols are going to shoot their shot and see where things go with the talented offensive lineman.
