Alabama offered Steele in June and became the first Power four program to do so. The Tide’s early offer has Alabama in a good position with the sophomore.
“I grew up an Alabama fan and love the place,” Steele said. “Great winning tradition, and they get people to the league.”
LSU is also standing out because of how the Tigers envision using him in their offense and possibly on teh basketball court.
“LSU is the same, and they use a hybrid tight end like me, and with a possible basketball offer in the SEC that would be amazing,” said Steele.
Clemson has also made a strong impression on Steele with its culture and development. The Tigers hosted him for a visit in November.
“Clemson is legit, and they really do it the right way,” Steele told Touchdown Alabama. “Clemson gave us first-class treatment, and they are more than just football. They are building successful men.”
At 6-foot-6, Steele presents matchup problems for defensive backs and linebackers alike.
