Oregon Gets Bad News Regarding International Prospect on Wednesday

The Oregon Ducks will be doing everything they can in this offseason to make it back to the NCAA March Madness Tournament.

In back-to-back seasons, the Ducks have made it to the second round of the Tournament, but failed to go any further.

If the Ducks are going to go back to the tournament next season, it'll start on the recruiting trail.

Oregon gets bad news regarding prospect

The Ducks will await to hear whether or not center Nathan Bittle will return to Eugene next season.

He was named Third-team All-Big Ten in the Ducks' first season in their new conference and was also named to the All-Defensive Team.

He declared for the 2025 NBA Draft, but could still opt out of the process and maintain his eligibility.

With their eyes on the 2025 recruiting class, Oregon had hopes of bringing in Dame Sarr, an international prospect who plays for FC Barcelona Lassa B (Treviso).

The 6-foot-6 shooting guard offers solid length and athleticism at the position, but it looks like the Kansas Jayhawks are the favorites to land him.

In addition, Duke seems to have emerged from nowhere and is gaining ground on landing the Italian prospect. They were also fighting with fellow Big Ten Conference member Illinois for his services.

The Fighting Illini have become a hub for European players over the last two years, so that should come as no surprise.

The Ducks' 2025 recruiting class is ranked 82nd in the country with a transfer rank of 56th, according to 247Sports.com.
