OSU Basketball: Cowboys' Starter and Former McDonald’s All-American to Enter Transfer Portal
William Purnell-USA TODAY Sports

On Monday morning, Oklahoma State basketball players began hitting the transfer portal in waves. Not only did the Cowboys' leading scorer Javon Small hit the portal, but so did Oklahoma State's former McDonald’s All-American. Following just one season in Stillwater, big man Brandon Garrison has entered the transfer portal.

Garrison now ranks as the top available player in the transfer portal. Given his size, skillset and recruiting pedigree, he should have the opportunity to go almost anywhere he wants. When Garrison committed to Oklahoma State, some of his other finalists in the recruiting process included Kansas, Texas and Arkansas. He was one of three McDonald's All-Americans recruited to Stillwater during former head coach Mike Boynton's time with the Cowboys.

A 6-foot-11 center who grew up and played high school ball roughly a mile from Oklahoma State's campus, Garrison started 29 games as a freshman for the Cowboys, posting averages 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per contest.

The transfer portal opened Monday morning, so expect others on the roster to also test the waters and enter their name, especially given the Cowboys currently don't have a coach.
