All there is to do now for Packers players on the bubble, and bubble players across the NFL, is wait.
The preseason is over, the performances have been put on film, but the final decisions over who makes up the 53 man rosters for the Packers and 31 other teams will be debated by coaches and executives until just before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. deadline to set an inital 53-man roster.
For each of the past 20 seasons, an undrafted rookie has made the Packers’ roster.
This season, that could be former Georgia defensive tackle Nazir Stackhouse made a compelling case this summer to extend the streak to 21 years.
“All I can do is be thankful for the opportunity and I feel I did good,” Stackhouse recently told the team’s official website. “I’m just glad I was able to showcase my talents, showcase what I can provide for the team with the opportunities they gave me.”
Stackhouse, 6-foot-4 and 327 pounds, has the potential to be a dominant run-stuffer, which the Packers could stand to benefit from in a division that houses the likes of Jahmyr Gibbs, D’Andre Swift, and Aaron Jones, in addition to having to overcome Saquon Barkley in the NFC. Posting four total tackles in the preseason, it could come down to a numbers game for Stackhouse, but the former Georgia star did a lot of things to like during training camp and the preseason.More must-reads:
