Pakistan and Bangladesh will face off in a three-match T20 International series in Lahore as part of their preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

The series, initially planned to feature three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20Is, was first revised to five T20Is across two venues Lahore and Faisalabad before being scaled back to a three-match T20I series solely at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Pakistan will be led by Salman Ali Agha, who was named captain in a 16-man squad earlier this month. The upcoming series will also mark the first assignment for newly appointed head coach Mike Hesson.

Bangladesh, currently engaged in a T20I series in the United Arab Emirates, will arrive in Lahore on 25 May. They are set to begin training the following day. The team will be captained by Litton Das, who recently took over leadership duties.

This upcoming encounter between the two sides revives a long-standing rivalry, which includes notable past meetings such as Bangladesh’s memorable victory over Pakistan in the 1999 Cricket World Cup group stage.

The series is scheduled to begin on 28 May, with the second and third matches to be played on 30 May and 1 June, respectively. It is also expected to serve as a key preparation platform for both teams as they fine-tune their squads and strategies ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup.

Series Schedule:

  • First T20I: Wednesday, 28 May – Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore
  • Second T20I: Friday, 30 May – Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore
  • Third T20I: Sunday, 1 June – Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore
