More veteran defensive players for the Carolina Panthers are talking about Bryce Young.
The rookie quarterback from the University of Alabama has the locker room.
He has been exceptional on the field, dropping dimes to receivers and tight ends during rookie minicamp, organized team activities, and mandatory minicamp. Brian Burns, a defensive end for the Panthers, said Young is ‘humble with it but knows he’s the s—-.’ Burns said it is hard not to like the California native. Donte Jackson, a cornerback, became the second defensive player to validate how Young has won the locker room. Joe Person, who covers the Panthers for The Athletic, shared that Jackson was excited when Carolina traded up for the No. 1 overall pick. Jackson said he ‘knew the team was getting a dog’ with the pick.
Donte Jackson on the reaction in team group text when Panthers traded up for No. 1 pick: “We knew we were going to go get a dog and we’re definitely happy with the dog we got. He’s different.”

Frank Reich had a reason for moving Young up to the No. 1 quarterback spot.
He wants the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner to get as many reps as possible with the first team.
Young has an opportunity to become the week one starter for the Panthers against Atlanta. He has been nothing short of impressive thus far, but Young looks to continue his success in training camp.
